On April 7th, 20009 in Sofia, in BNT (Bulgarian National Television) building, the consecutive broadcast named "The women" was filmed, with Martina Vachkova, but this time special guests of the broadcast were also the children from the Christian schools in Debrashtitza and Yunatzite villages.
For ten of those children chosen by the St. Dimitar Foundation that day from their April’s vacation became more special. They all left to Sofia on a bus around noon, accompanied by Ms. Dora from the school in Yunatzite village, with the purpose to participate in Martina Vachkova’s show. Children were quite excited and they brought flowers at their arrival. They were well prepared to show their knowledge of Easter and its traditions.
After patient awaiting of our turn to enter the broadcast studio, the great moment came. There were few cameras in the studio, few monitors and plenty of light from the spotlights. Children were introduced to the magic of television industry. They felt the tickling feeling and the excitement of getting prepared for and to be part of a popular television show. The filming started and the first guest left the show after a while, and our turn was up – the children sat down around a specially arranged table with water-colors for decorating eggs. They said the Lord’s prayer and then started decorating the eggs, as the tradition demands. In the meanwhile, Mrs. Evgenia Savova spoke more about the aims of the Christian schools and the mission of St. Dimitar Foundation, with founder and manager Mr. Lyudmil Georgiev.
About the end of the broadcast the children showed the decorated Easter eggs and they gave icons (drawn by themselves) to Mrs. Marta Vachkova as well as to the editor of the show.
After leaving the studio with many positive emotions, we all went eat delicious pizza and ice-cream at Mrs. Jenny’s restaurant – "Maki", where, as the sunny spring weather urged us, we were seated outside, in the beautiful garden decorated with many flowers.
Now well fed and inspired by the positive emotions of the short but interesting trip to Sofia, the children were driven back to their village to continue their April vacation.
